Orhopedic Medical Office Facility
Architecture for Health's first project, this 6,350 s.f. medical practice facility is a comfortable style that appeals to many. The new orthopedic office facility is designed to accommodate 4 busy orthopedic surgeons in group practice. Negotiated with a regional contractor, Matthews Construction, the project came in under the original budget.
The design of the project utilizes traditional lines and materials with brick, synthetic stucco and cast stone accents to create the upscale yet conservative image the client desired. The planning, complete with centralized x-ray, casting and film storage includes a major attic storage room in addition to the plan shown.
A drive under canopy and vestibule allow covered access to the facility to both ambulance and patients as well as many others with ambulatory impairments so common in orthopedics.
As is always our goal at Architecture for Health, Inc., this project has been designed so that staffing growth can be limited even as the practice expands with more physicians. The project is also designed with a planned expansion in mind. And in fact, we added a physical therapy addition within 5 years of the original project completion. Because of owner satisfaction with the original project, the same team was utilized.
