Healthcare Architecture Planning Project Analysis Interiors
Architecture for Health was founded in 1999 by Brian Lathrop in order to provide specialized design services exclusively to health care providers. While our clients range from solo physicians and growing group practices to medical developers and hospitals, the firm's primary focus is in ambulatory healthcare. Whether the project is for medical office, surgery, diagnostic imaging or rehab; our goal is to help our clients find the solution that makes sense not only functionally and aesthetically, but also financially. We believe that our specialization and unique approach allow us to provide services that are far more comprehensive and of exceptional value to our clients. This is evidenced by the fact that we have never produced a project that has not proceeded to construction.
Located in metro-Atlanta, Georgia (Roswell), the firm's focus has been in the southeastern United States. Mr. Lathrop does maintain a national board (NCARB) certification and will consider travel outside the region on a project by project basis.
COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE:
Providing a complete range of traditional architectural services, AFH provides state-of-the-art medical space programming, architectural design and construction documents. Every project is given the full attention of the company's principal architect and founder to assure a successful outcome. All projects start with comprehensive budgeting and financial analysis so that fees are not wasted pursuing a direction that isn't financially feasible.
UNIQUE APPROACH: GOOD DESIGN SHOULD HELP MINIMIZE STAFF
It has long been believed in the medical design field that if the design will make the most highly paid employee (the physician) more efficient, then everything else will take care of itself. This concept brought the advent of the "pod system". The problem with this concept is that it can work against the sharing of personnel. One look at your revenue and expenses, however will tell you that staffing costs are the biggest drain on the medical practice bottom line. At architecture For Health we utilize concepts that centralize staff so that you can do more with less people. Savings in this area alone can easily pay for our fees and year in and year out go a long way toward paying for a new building.
Mr. Lathrop trained at the University of Illinois, Urbana where he obtained his B.S. Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees. Mr. Lathrop has qualified for and maintains a national board certification (NCARB). His personal delivery of Health Care project services was developed and refined during 11 years at the nationally recognized medical design/builder where he would typically direct programming, design and construction services for 10 to 20 health care clients annually. A registered architect in 7 states, Mr. Lathrop has a combined 29 years of architectural, construction and business experience serving clients. Having provided project development services on more than 150 medical building projects, Mr. Lathrop is well prepared to lend his unique talents to any medical specialty project.
